Our Practice Boundaries & Safety Commitments

It is essential to be clear about what this clinical space is and is not.

I do not provide or distribute any substances, I do not facilitate active sessions under the influence, and I do not make referrals to underground networks.

My practice operates strictly within a legal, clinical harm-reduction and integration framework. I support individuals before and after their personal, therapeutic, or medical experiences, such as ketamine-assisted therapy, research protocols, or personal exploration, to help them safely process and anchor their insights in a legal, warm, and secure psychotherapy environment.

“A peak experience can open the door to deep insight, but integration is the daily, somatic work of actually walking through it and building your new life.”
Somatic Integration & Real Change

Why mind-expanding insights must be integrated through the body

Altered states of consciousness, whether experienced in a clinical trial, ketamine-assisted therapy setting, or personal spiritual exploration, have a unique ability to temporarily quiet your brain’s protective default patterns. This often gives you a beautiful, panoramic view of your patterns, childhood wounds, and life’s possibilities.

However, when the session fades and you return to daily life, your nervous system can struggle to catch up. A challenging journey can leave your body holding physical shock or hypervigilance (bracing, a racing heart, or feeling raw). A beautiful, expanded journey can feel just as frustrating if you don’t know how to translate those insights into simple, grounded, sustainable daily habits.

We bridge the expanded state with the somatic present. We do not treat integration as a purely logical analysis. By combining Somatic Experiencing with parts work (IFS) and gentle EMDR, we safely process any lingering activation, soothe the younger or terrified protective parts of you that got shaken loose, and help you anchor your new perspectives directly into your body’s daily structure.

Therapeutic Phases

Nurturing your system’s integration journey

Whether you are preparing for a medical protocol, processing a profound journey, or untangling a challenging altered-state experience:

Preparation Phase

Somatic Preparation & Intention Setting

Building a resilient nervous system baseline before entering expanded states. We focus on somatic grounding exercises, mapping your internal protective parts (IFS), identifying attachment blocks, and clarifying healthy intentions.

Harm Reduction

Harm Reduction & Safety Planning

Helping you understand the physical, emotional, and legal basics of a safer experience, and set realistic expectations. We discuss legal boundaries, psychological safety markers, and build a customized daily self-soothing toolkit.

Reprocessing Wounds

Processing a Difficult Journey

Sometimes altered-state sessions are frightening, fragmenting, or unlock intense childhood trauma before your system is ready. We use Somatic Experiencing and gentle EMDR to process the residual panic, soothe frightened young parts, and ground your body.

Grounded Integration

Grounding Insights & Daily Alignment

Moving beyond temporary inspiration to build a daily life that reflects your expanded values. We map somatic boundaries, update relationship dynamics, work through self-sabotage patterns, and translate deep insights into real-world habits.

Our Clinical Framework

Body-centered healing for profound integration

Because expanded states impact both your neural pathways and your nervous system, we weave together gentle, body-aware practices:

Somatic Experiencing

Settle the Autonomic Shock

If a journey left your body feeling raw, anxious, or ungrounded, we use Somatic Experiencing to track physical sensations and slowly discharge stored survival energy. This helps return your body to a baseline of calm safety.

EMDR Reprocessing

Reprocess Challenging Journeys

If memories of a frightening session or sudden childhood flashbacks trigger panic or chest tightness in your present life, we use EMDR to help file those events as past history, so you can settle.

IFS Parts Work

Welcome Every Internal Part

Expanded states often shake loose younger, exiled parts, or trigger strong pushback from your protectors, like your inner skeptic, critic, or numbing parts. We welcome all of these parts with warmth (IFS), helping them integrate safely.

Answering Your Concerns

Common questions about integration & harm reduction

Navigating integration takes real trust. Here is how our clinical approach supports your safety.

Do you provide substances or sit with me during an active journey? +
No, under no circumstances. I operate strictly in accordance with local, state, and federal law. I do not supply, distribute, recommend, or facilitate the use of illegal substances, and I do not provide active session sitting or underground guiding. My work is focused on pre-journey preparation (harm reduction, intention setting, safety planning) and post-journey somatic integration, in a legal, warm, and secure psychotherapy setting.
What happens if a past experience left me feeling extremely ungrounded, anxious, or derealized? +
Expanded states can occasionally surface raw material, memories, or childhood shock before your body is ready to process them, leaving you feeling fragmented or derealized (feeling like things aren’t real). This is a physical stress response. We use Somatic Experiencing and gentle EMDR to process that activation, anchor your physical awareness back in your body, and restore a dependable, daily sense of safety to your system.
How does parts work (IFS) help with psychedelic integration? +
Expanded journeys can quiet your default protectors, exposing very young, vulnerable, or exiled parts of your personality that carry old pain. When the journey ends, your protective parts (like your inner critic, skeptic, or perfectionist) can react by tightening up, causing a wave of anxiety or self-sabotage to block those younger parts. We work directly with these protectors with curiosity and respect, helping your entire internal team feel safe and integrated.
