PTSD & C-PTSD Trauma Therapy • Washington State

You survived the storm. Now, let’s help your body realize it is safely over.

Warm, body-centered therapy for Washington State residents who are tired of living on constant high alert, feeling disconnected, and carrying the heavy physical weight of the past.

A Safe Place to Land

If your body is still holding onto the panic, you are not alone.

Living with PTSD or C-PTSD means your mind and body are constantly working overtime. You might feel a persistent tightness in your chest, a nervous stomach, or find yourself waiting for the other shoe to drop, even in moments of quiet. Maybe you feel completely exhausted from trying to stay on guard, or find yourself wanting to run away or shut down entirely.

When you’ve survived painful childhood environments, relationship abuse, or sudden life shocks, your nervous system learns to stay in survival mode to protect you. That isn’t a flaw in your character; it is a natural biological response.

Here, we don’t expect you to push through the pain or force yourself to feel okay. We offer a safe, warm, and gentle space to let your guard down. Working together, we’ll help your body feel quiet, secure, and genuinely at peace again, supporting you at a pace that feels entirely comfortable for your system.

Why Body-Centered Therapy Works

Why talking alone doesn’t quiet the deep alarm of trauma

Many survivors who seek out therapy have spent years logically explaining and analyzing what happened to them. They have deep mental clarity and can explain their triggers perfectly. Yet, their physical body continues to exist in a state of high alarm.

This is because trauma is not just a mental memory; it is a physical event recorded by your survival brain. When a threat occurs, the analytical part of your brain goes offline to let your protective survival reflexes, like fighting, running, freezing, or keeping the peace, take over.

Long after the threat is over, your physical system can remain braced, still waiting to complete those natural defense cycles. Somatic therapy gently works “bottom-up” (focusing on body-centered safety) to let your nervous system safely release historical alarm and comfortably land back in the peaceful present.

“True recovery isn’t about training your mind to ignore your body. It’s about building safe physical capacity so your system can finally let go of the old bracing.”

Answering Your Concerns

Common questions about trauma therapy & recovery

Beginning trauma recovery requires immense courage. Here is how our body-centered approach supports your healing.

Will I have to recount every detail of my trauma to heal? +
Absolutely not. Forcing yourself to repeat graphic, painful details of what happened can easily flood your nervous system and make you feel re-traumatized. In our somatic and EMDR work, we focus on how your body is carrying the stress today. We can safely process and clear the charge of the memory without ever forcing you to retell the stories.
What is the difference between PTSD and C-PTSD (Complex PTSD)? +
PTSD typically develops after a single, shocking event, like an accident or assault. C-PTSD (Complex PTSD) occurs after experiencing long-term, repeated trauma or emotional neglect over months or years, often during childhood or inside a close relationship. While PTSD is centered on fear and flashbacks, C-PTSD also includes struggles with self-doubt, toxic guilt, feeling disconnected, and difficulty trusting others. We support both pathways with deep compassion.
How do we know when the body’s nervous system is actually settling? +
As we slowly release the protective bracing stored in your body, you will notice real, physical changes: your breathing will naturally get deeper, your shoulders and stomach will relax, your digestion will settle, and you will find it easier to feel present without that constant waiting-for-the-other-shoe-to-drop panic.
