Trauma Therapy in Washington
01. Therapy for Trauma
Understanding What You’re Carrying
Trauma doesn’t always look like one big event. Many people seeking therapy for trauma feel anxious, shut down, or overwhelmed without knowing why. These patterns are often your nervous system trying to protect you.
02. Complex Trauma Therapy
Long-Term Patterns & Emotional Imprints
Complex trauma therapy supports those who have experienced repeated stress—often in relationships. This can include childhood emotional neglect, instability, or ongoing environments where you didn’t feel safe to be yourself.
03. Nervous System Focus
Somatic & Trauma-Informed Approach
Trauma is not just stored in memory—it lives in the body. We work with the nervous system to gently release stored tension, build regulation, and help your system learn that it is safe to come out of survival mode.
04. Trauma Therapy Washington State
Online Care Across Washington
I offer trauma therapy in Washington through secure telehealth sessions. Whether you are in Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma, or elsewhere in the state, you can access consistent, trauma-informed support from home.
Trauma can live in the body long after the event has passed.
Trauma is not only about what happened. It is also about what your nervous system had to do to survive it. For some people, that looks like shutting down. For others, it looks like staying hyper-alert, people-pleasing, disconnecting, or feeling like your emotions take over before you can think clearly.
In trauma therapy, we work with both the story and the body’s response. The goal is to help your system build enough safety and capacity to process what has been held inside, without forcing you to relive everything all at once.
Trauma therapy may support you if you notice:

Isabella Koepf, LMHCA
As a licensed therapist in Washington, Isabella specializes in trauma and complex trauma using an integrative, nervous-system-informed approach. Her work focuses on helping you understand not just what happened, but how your system adapted to survive it.
She draws primarily from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and parts work, alongside EMDR and Somatic Experiencing, supporting both emotional processing and nervous system regulation so change actually sticks.
When helpful, sessions may also incorporate Lifespan Integration and yoga therapy to support integration, embodiment, and a deeper sense of internal safety.
How We Work
Integrated trauma therapy for the whole system
Isabella’s work draws primarily from Internal Family Systems, parts work, EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing, with additional support from Lifespan Integration and yoga therapy when clinically appropriate.
IFS & Parts Work
We explore the protective parts of you that learned to manage pain, fear, shame, or overwhelm. Instead of fighting these parts, we build understanding, compassion, and more internal cooperation.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR can help the brain reprocess painful memories so they feel less vivid, charged, or present-day. It supports the nervous system in updating old survival responses.
Somatic Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing focuses on the body’s stress responses, helping you gently track sensations, release stored activation, and rebuild a felt sense of safety.
Lifespan Integration
Lifespan Integration supports the nervous system in recognizing that past experiences are over, helping different parts of your life feel more connected and coherent.
Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapy may include breath, movement, grounding, and body awareness practices to support regulation, embodiment, and reconnection with yourself.
A Personalized Approach
Therapy is adapted to your pace, your capacity, and what your system is ready for. The goal is not to force a method, but to choose the right tool for the moment.
Support for complex trauma, relational wounds, and survival patterns
Trauma can come from a single event, but it can also develop through repeated experiences that taught your nervous system to stay guarded, disconnected, or constantly braced for what might happen next.
Childhood Trauma
Support for early experiences of neglect, instability, emotional absence, criticism, parentification, or environments where you had to grow up too quickly.
Complex Trauma
Therapy for long-term patterns shaped by repeated stress, relational harm, unsafe environments, or years of feeling like you had to stay in survival mode.
Narcissistic Abuse Recovery
Support after manipulation, gaslighting, coercive control, emotional invalidation, blame-shifting, or relationships that left you questioning your reality.
Domestic Violence & Relationship Trauma
Trauma-informed care for survivors of emotional, verbal, physical, or psychological abuse, with attention to safety, pacing, and nervous system repair.
Sexual Abuse & Boundary Violations
Support for experiences of sexual trauma, coercion, assault, or boundary violations, approached with care, consent, and respect for your pace.
Attachment Wounds
Therapy for patterns such as fear of abandonment, difficulty trusting, people-pleasing, anxious attachment, avoidant shutdown, or feeling unsafe in closeness.
Emotional Neglect
Support for the quiet injuries of not being seen, comforted, protected, believed, or emotionally met when you needed connection most.
Religious, Family, or Identity-Based Trauma
Space to process harm connected to family systems, communities, identity, belonging, rejection, shame, or pressure to suppress parts of yourself.
Nervous System Dysregulation
Support for hypervigilance, shutdown, panic, dissociation, emotional flooding, chronic tension, or feeling like your body is always preparing for threat.
You do not need to have the perfect words for what happened. Therapy can begin with what you notice now: the reactions, the patterns, the exhaustion, and the parts of you that are ready for something different.
